Terms and definitions all Wingmen should know!

- The Wingman – The Pilot’s trusty sidekick and “partner in crime.” It is his sole duty to assist the Pilot in ANY way possible to accomplish the mission. The Wingman strictly adheres to The Laws in order to increase the Pilot’s chances of a successful mission. Also, the Wingman can sometimes overcome the initial fire and maneuver away to safety and a possible successful mission.
- WingGirl (aka WingWoman) – A good friend who happens to be female. Who better to befriend than a female with multiple friends who are potential Targets? It is imperative that you keep the relationship strictly platonic, as to not damage the opportunities that your WingGirl may present to you in the future.
- The Target – The pinnacle of the mission, and the object of the Pilot’s affection. It is the duty of the Wingman to assist the Pilot in winning over her affection. The Target may be accompanied by other potential Targets or Grenades. See various types of targets here.
- The Pilot – The man in control of the mission, and who’s goal is to win over the Target. He relies on assistance from his loyal WingMan to successfully accomplish the mission.
- The Chummer (aka Chum Bait or Chum Line) - A very good looking friend that is used to lure or draw women (or men for the ladies) over to the normal looking group of friends.
- Getting Lucky - This can be whatever the Pilot wants. It can mean anything getting a phone number to finding the girl he wants to marry or a one night stand. See our Lucky Girls section!

 The Grenade – The Target’s less attractive friend. It is the inevitable duty of the Wingman to distract the Grenade in ANY way possible, which will allow the Pilot to fully focus his attention on the Target. This duty is commonly referred to as “jumping on a grenade.”
- WingCouple - A friend and his/her significant other that will both help you out with your target. This could be done by going on a double date somewhere (i.e. dinner, etc.) to help the girl feel more comfortable. One example might be that your buddy's girlfriend has a cute friend but she doesn't know you that well but agrees to start off by going on a double date.
- The WingSis - If you are lucky enough to have a sister close to your age, let her be your WingSis.Sorority functions are a goldmine!
- The WingDad - Nobody knows you better than dear ole Dad, and he wants to live vicariously through you! The ladies will melt from your Dad’s charm, but you will reap the rewards.
- The WingMom - Women find nothing more attractive than a guy who can hang out with his mother. Your mom will always know what the women want to hear. After all, she was there once.
- The Silver Fox - The Holy Grail of Wingmen. This older single gentlemen will impress the women with is charm and wisps of grey hair.You do not want to miss an opportunity for a Silver Fox to be your wingman. Learn from his wisdom and stories of successful missions.
- The Psuedo-WingMan - A friend that claims to be your Wingman, but he is selfish and he does not have your best interest in mind. He does not follow The Laws and tries to take advantage of your Wingman skills to get lucky.
- The WingDog – Take your dog for a walk in the park or on the beach and he will be your WingDog.You will soon realize that your WingDog is the ultimate ice-breaker, as no woman can resist a cute dog.
- The WingCar - A nice car that induces women/men to be more attracted to you then they would have been if you were not in that car. These people are better for one nighters since they care about the material things.
- The WingBaby - A baby that you have with you that shows you are a sweet and responsible single father. This does not have to be your baby! There are known men that have borrowed a friend's baby to use out at a bar or restaurant. You can even say you're babysitting a friend's baby which also shows your a nice person. This normally works for men only as if a woman has a baby, the man is not interested. Also, stay out of smoky bars for the baby's health!
- Cougar - An older woman who's targets are as many young men as she can handle. In many cases is divorced, with money from the settlement, who will does not abide by traditional tactics. They can be very aggressive and can teach a young wingman and pilot many new tricks. See UrbanCougar.com for more detailed types of cougars.
