1. Your chances for success are higher in a “target rich environment.Target rich environments include shopping malls, grocery stores, coffee shops, concerts, and weddings.Bars are also included, but you will probably encounter more competition for less quality targets.
   
2. Be confident and don’t be afraid to approach a Target.Understand that the target is probably more nervous than you are about the encounter.Be CONFIDENT.
   
3. Don’t be discouraged if you turned down by a Target.Understand that everyone will get turned down sometime, and the more times you attempt the more often you will succeed.
   
4. Pick up lines are funny, but 99% of the time they don’t work…so don’t use them!Just being yourself and friendly will take you a long way.
   
5. Pretend you already know the Target. Start the conversation with “Haven’t we met before?” or “You look very familiar.”This will break the ice and will make the Target less apprehensive about being approached.
   
6. Start a conversation with simple things and not cheesy pick-up lines by saying "Hey" or "How are you doing?" or "Can I buy you a drink?"
   
7. Let a friend that is married or in a relationship be your wingman and have him initiate the conversations with women. The women feel comfortable with these men because they know they are not after anything.
